Leila (F) and Lyon (M) - in Ashburn, VA
Leila and Lyon are nine‑year‑old bonded siblings who lost the only home they ever knew. A wonderful foster family in Ashburn, VA — already sharing their lives with three other Bichons — welcomed them with open arms. These two have blossomed, showing all the sweetness and devotion we knew they carried in their hearts.
They’re gentle, affectionate, and inseparable — a tiny two‑dog team who move through the world together. Both are house‑trained, sleep through the night, and love being near their human. Lyon enjoys his walks; Leila prefers cozy cuddles. They get along beautifully with other dogs but would be happiest as the only two pups, soaking up all the love and attention.
Both are healthy, fully vetted, and ready for their forever‑ever‑after. Leila weighs just under 10 lbs. and Lyon is a sturdy 12 lbs. Lyon will see an ophthalmologist soon for a routine check — we’re making sure he gets the best care possible.
After many changes in their lives, they deserve a calm, loving home where they’ll be cherished and cared for — and where they can enjoy each other as the sweet, settled adult Bichons they are.
Crusty (M) in Houston, TX
Crusty was found wandering alone on a scorching Texas day — dirty, matted, flea‑covered, and completely confused. A kind woman couldn’t leave him there, so she scooped him up, cleaned him, and tried calling the number on his microchip. No one ever answered. She wanted to keep him, but her landlord wouldn’t allow another pet, so BFCACT stepped in.
Crusty is a 13‑year‑old, 24.5-lb. blind Bichon with a big personality and an even bigger nap schedule. He learns his surroundings quickly, loves snuggles, gentle walks, cozy beds, and being near his person. He’s polite with calm dogs, respectful of cats, and would be perfectly happy as an only dog. He enjoys puzzle toys and has a hilarious dramatic streak that appears mostly at the groomer and vet.
He is housetrained, fully vaccinated, and has several senior‑dog conditions (blindness, dental disease, heart murmur, cyst, trachea injury). He needs daily eye drops and heart medication. BFCACT will cover any needed dental work. Because he’s blind, he needs a home without stairs or with securely blocked stairways.
Crusty wants a quiet, loving home where someone is around often and can give him the gentle, predictable life he deserves. Adopting him is truly giving — and receiving — a beautiful gift.
SISSY (F) in Independence, Missouri
Sissy is a super‑cute 12.2‑pound, 12-year-old little girl. She is spayed, up‑to‑date on vaccinations, and has been well cared for. Like many Bichons her age, she does have dental disease; BFCACT will cover the cost of her dental. She was reliably house trained, though she will likely need a refresher in a new home until she learns their schedule and expectations. This sweet tidbit loves her daily walkies and enjoys taking in the scents and sounds of her surroundings. She is great with people, though she has been startled by young children who didn’t respect her boundaries. We don’t know if she has met any cats.
We are looking for an adopter or a foster‑to‑adopt family. We believe Sissy would prefer someone who is home much of the time, as that is what she is used to, and would like plenty of cuddle‑, play‑, and lap time with her new family. A fenced‑in yard is not necessary if she gets nice daily walks.

Brandy (F) & Bella (F) - A bonded pair in Chandler, Arizona (suburb of Phoenix)
Can these little faces be any cuter? We don’t think so. Brandy and Bella, our two gorgeous little princesses, are ready for their second chance.

Brandy is an eight‑year‑old, 9 lb. sweetheart. She’s been diagnosed with diabetes, now managed with twice-daily insulin injections with her meals, which she’ll need on an ongoing basis. She also has Cushings, although she takes her liquid Vetoryl easily and seems to be feeling better. Bella, her nine‑year‑old, 16-lb. sister, is a true lovebug in every sense of the word who just wants to be near or touching you. If you want to hear squeals of joy, you’ll get them when you return after leaving the house.

Brandy and Bella are deeply bonded to their foster dad and will follow him all around the house. If you’ve ever dreamed of leading your own fluffy parade each day, they are absolutely the girls for you. They must lay in his office while he is working. And they MUST sleep in his bed. They adore their daily walks and will give you quite a workout - they’re speedy little troopers. Both girls are spayed, fully vetted and vaccinated. While they are doing well in the housetraining department, they would do best in a home with a fenced-in backyard and a doggie door, so they can let themselves out when they need to potty. As we fine‑tune Brandy’s diabetes medication, she sometimes needs an extra potty break or a quicker trip outside — completely normal during this phase. She’s a tidy, reliable, and wonderfully cooperative little girl who truly tries to keep her routine, and she’s already improving.

Brandy and Bella apparently had some rough times in their early years, and they can be nervous and fearful. Brandy is very afraid of bigger dogs. Bella is a little diva who prefers to be the alpha and gets along beautifully with dogs who let her lead. She will also bark at strangers if dad is nearby - her way of making sure he’s safe. She loves stuffed toys (especially removing the squeaker). Because of their sensitivities, we will not place them with children.

We are looking for a patient, experienced adopter who is home most of the time - someone retired or working from home would be ideal. These girls are amazing, tender souls who just need reassurance that the world isn’t scary and that love is forever.
