Buddy (M) and Pal (M), a bonded pair in Savannah, Georgia
Are you looking for a joyful, friendly, silly and playful duo? Buddy and Pal would be perfect companions for an active family with children and other pets – especially one that doesn’t need a purebred pup to steal their hearts. They are just amazing, deserving boys and we hope you will consider giving them a chance to experience the carefree, love-filled, lives they have been missing for so long.

Buddy is a seven-year-old, 20-lb. boy and Pal is his two-year-old, 16-lb. son. We are told that they are a Bichon/Shih Tzu mix. Most of their lives were spent either outside or in a crate, so they are now discovering what it feels like to be part of a loving home. Deeply bonded, they must be adopted together. These boys are high energy and very active. They adore racing around and entertaining each other in their backyard and especially enjoy it when their great foster mom joins in the fun. Walks are another favorite! They love everybody – people, other pets, anyone who crosses their path. In the house, they are perfect little gentlemen, well-behaved when foster mom is at work.

Buddy and Pal have been fully vetted, vaccinated and recently neutered. Both have been treated for ear allergies. They enjoy their weekly baths and have great appetites. While both boys seem to be house trained, we expect they will need a refresher in any new home.

These two are truly special boys who are ready for a fresh start. They’re affectionate, spirited, and so eager to belong. We hope you’ll give them the chance to finally experience the happiness they’ve been waiting for.

SNICKERS (M), a nine-month-old puppy in Eagan, Minnesota (15 miles SW of St. Paul) (Adoption pending)
If you are looking for a puppy, Snickers may be just the boy for you. He is an absolutely beautiful, happy, affectionate, playful nine-month-old sweetheart who is ready to meet his forever family!

Snickers is great with children and other pets, walks well on a leash and is housetrained (although our guess is that he will need a refresher in a new home). Snickers is active and will definitely require a family who can take him on many nice long walks, engage in active games with him or even have another small young dog for him to play with. A fenced-in back yard would be a plus. He would be great with children old enough to treat him gently and respect his boundaries. Snickers is neutered and up to date on shots.

This pup will need someone who will be home a lot to appreciate his many puppy adventures, curiosity and happy innocence and at the same time have the commitment and patience to help him transition to a well-mannered, loving adult Bichon as he matures. Are you the one for him?

Sugar (F) and Munchkin (F), a bonded pair in The Villages, Florida
Sugar, a beautiful six-year-old Bichon, and Munchkin, a wonderful thirteen-year-old girl of mixed heritage, have shared many life challenges, find comfort in each other and must be adopted together. Both girls are very sweet, happy and affectionate

Munchkin is a bright 11.5 lb. girl who loves other dogs and their people. She enjoys socializing on walks and playing with her toys. She is not above stealing an occasional sock from foster Dad or coaxing treats from a friendly neighbor. Sugar, the adorable 13.9 lb. Bichon, is more of a work in progress. She is fearful of people she doesn’t know but is starting to come around. She enjoys toys and will often toss and chase them. She is quite the lap dog and loves entertaining her trusted human companions.

Sugar and Munchkin are spayed, UTD on vaccinations, and fully vetted. They need a family who understands that they are not perfect, but where they can continue to heal. They may make an occasional housebreaking mistake, but they are learning. No recent exposure to cats. We think a quiet, adult home would be best for them for now. Children over the age of 12 who would treat them gently and respect their boundaries may also be an option. A home with a fenced-in backyard is preferred but not required. They would do best with people who are home a lot and able to give them the time and attention they thrive on. In return, these sweet girls will show their gratitude and love many times over.

Romeo (M) And Samantha (F), a bonded pair in Hudson, FL
Romeo is a handsome ten-year-old, 12.5 lb. boy and Samantha is a beautiful seven-year-old, 13.4 lb. girl. They were loved deeply and well cared for in the past but did not have a great deal of exposure to other people and animals. Romeo tends to be more outgoing, and Samatha is on the shy side and may be fearful of people she hasn’t met.

They are currently being boarded and are doing great. Both Romeo and Samantha are learning to feel comfortable with staff and other dogs there. In fact, Romeo is eager to interact with visitors and get lots of attention and affection. Samantha seems to be warming up to others. We think it is only a matter of time until she is the affectionate cuddle bug we know she can be.

Both Bichons have recently been vetted, are spayed/neutered and are UTD on vaccinations. Their medical records show they have had excellent veterinary care. Both have recently been groomed and look absolutely adorable. They are paper trained. We are looking for an experienced adopter who can help this amazing pair realize their full potential as devoted Bichon companions and experience all the adventures and joys of their breed. For now, we think they would do best in a quiet home where someone is home a lot. While we won’t place them with children, we believe teenagers who respect their boundaries and treat them gently may be fine. A fenced-in yard would give them a safe place to play together.
Will you offer these deserving dogs a new start in life? By giving Samantha and Romeo a second chance, you will watch as these gentle souls rediscover safety, trust, and joy simply because you opened your heart and home.

Lucky (M) in Vienna, Virginia (Adoption pending)
Several months ago, a man witnessed a little white dog being thrown out of a car window. He couldn’t keep the frightened pup himself and passed him to a relative, who also lacked the means to care for him. A compassionate neighbor finally stepped in and reached out to us for help. That brave little survivor became our boy Lucky, and now he is ready to find the loving home he has been dreaming of.

Lucky is a handsome, neutered 10-or-11-year-old Bichon/Shih Tzu mix who weighs approximately 10 lbs. He is house trained and will bark when he needs to go outside. Lucky gets along well with other dogs.

Lucky is a stylish guy and does come with some baggage, but not the bad kind! He would love to bring his favorite blanket and wardrobe to his new home and will require some closet space for his quarter zip, favorite sweater, winter coat, raincoat, Christmas sweater and PJ’s. Always a happy boy, his favorite activity is hanging out in the family room on his favorite bed, and at night he is ready to either sit by his foster mom's feet or snuggle in. He enjoys exploring his foster mom's backyard when it's not too cold or raining. He is perfectly capable of going up and down stairs but it's not his favorite, so a fenced-in backyard with minimal steps to the yard would be ideal.

Lucky has been neutered and had two separate dental surgeries to remove his last five teeth and repair three oral nasal fistulas caused by extensive dental disease. He does have partial vision loss but currently doesn't need surgery. He will require eye drops twice a day and regular checkups. He will do best in a home with humans who are around most of the day and will be comfortable either with a fur sibling or as a solo dog.

Lucky is ready to live the good life with a family who will build their world around him. We can’t think of a pup who deserves it more.
